China and India in outsourcing advances

US-based InnoVest, which plans to set up outsourcing business in China, has visited several locations as part of an outsourcing delegation.
Representatives from the company, including managing partner David Dastvar, stopped off in Beijing to visit information technology outsourcing and business process outsourcing providers.
They also stopped off at Guangzhou University City and Tianjin, where Mr Dastvar met with former Australian premiere Bob Hawke.
InnoVest's intentions regarding China were announced by Mr Dastvar at the first Global Outsourcing Summit in Tianjin earlier in December, at which Mr Hawke was a keynote speaker.
Meanwhile Indian outsourcing companies have been invited to invest in Sri Lanka by minister for export development and international trade G L Peiris.
Mr Peiris suggested that Sri Lanka had a high quality of personnel available at lower costs than elsewhere.
"Outsourcing of projects here will significantly help Indian companies reduce operational costs as well as offset the effect of rupee appreciation against the dollar," he said.
