Charity outsources telemarketing

Healthcare charity Sue Ryder Care has appointed an outsourcing company to carry out telemarketing for an upcoming fundraising event.
The Sue Ryder Care Cup is a nationwide golfing competition in which finalists will compete at the prestigious Celtic Manor in Wales in April next year.
"By taking part people will be supporting Sue Ryder Care's healthcare services for people living with conditions including multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, stroke and cancer," said the charity's head of events Victoria Glover.
Promotion for the event will be carried out through a targeted telemarketing campaign. Golf clubs across the country will be contacted and asked whether their members would like to participate in the event.
The aim of the outsourcing deal is to secure as many entries as possible, therefore raising as much money as possible for Sue Ryder Care.
According to Business Link, telemarketing has advantages over other forms of marketing because it allows companies to gauge consumer interest, ask questions to assess their needs and convey messages more effectively.
