Carphone Warehouse 'improves outsourcing deal

After an evaluation of services, Carphone Warehouse has managed to improve outsourcing deals, it said.
Head of commercial IT at the firm Malcolm Robinson stated that this sector is much "stronger" than it was three or four years ago.
Mr Robinson remarked that it now has a clearer outsourcing strategy in place and IT avenues are more "sensible".
"We made sure that selection processes were more rigorous and got a better understanding of how the different providers work," he commented.
He added that the fresh, streamlined outsourcing channels are based around strong relationships, with staff from different departments meeting each other to help teamwork.
In-depth conversations were made with its providers, Mr Robinson also suggested. The firm works with many others in this area, such as Tata Consultancy Services.
In related news, Capita recently revealed that it has signed a deal with Birmigham city council to provide support in a call centre capacity.
