A new outsourcing deal has been agreed between Nationwide Building Society and BT, which will focus on data and voice networking, along with other third-party support.
BT is set to provide the other firm with improved network capabilities via the 21CN Global format, moving away from the multiple channels currently used by the financial body.
The telecoms outfit argued that the move should enable Nationwide to predict its costs with more accuracy and also lower the price of its service level agreements.
Head of IT infrastructure at the building society Peter Stafford suggested that the agreement is expected to result in more efficiency.
Mr Stafford noted: "Having worked with BT for a number of years, we are very confident in the team's ability to fulfil our requirements."
His thoughts were matched by the chief executive at BT Global Services Francois Barrault who argued that its offerings are based on innovation.
Last week, fashion retailer Harvey Nichols claimed that sales have improved after it took on new customer relationship management software.
