'Flexibility' crucial to outsourcing

Outsourcing sections of small businesses is a great way to divide up the tasks that need to be done, according to experts.
Steve Connolly and Judith Hunt, founders of Bizunlimited, stated that they have gone into the outsourcing arena in a number of departments such as IT, reports the Times.
Ms Hunt noted the flexibility of outsourcing as a key reason why it can be undertaken and also the possibility of experimenting with different operating procedures.
"We can experiment with various approaches at a low risk and we can assess the value of having an in-house sales team before committing ourselves to the investment," she told the publication.
Outsourcing benefited the outfit, Ms Hunt claimed, because she did not have the staff or the money to employ people directly.
A recent survey from Compass Management Consulting found that firms undertaking outsourcing agreements should not cut costs as this might damage them in the long-run.
